According to  TMZ , the rapper pleaded guilty to a felony gun charge after his bail was denied earlier this month at a Bridgeview Courthouse hearing. The sentencing comes just a month after the rapper was re-arrested after he was sentenced to 180 days in prison for allegedly kicking a female fan during a 2015 concert. On the day of his supposed released, Gates was held back after police found that he had a gun charge pending and immediately threw him back into jail. Weeks after some respite in the growing incidence of suicide in the state, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) yesterday rescued a suspected suicider who fell into a well at Ojota area of Lagos. The alleged suicider was rescued by LASEMA officials alive yesterday morning. The man (name withheld) allegedly jumped into the well and a distress call was made to the emergency agency. Mr. Kanu and three others, David Nwawuisi, Benjamin Madubugwu and Chidiebere Onwudiwe, are facing trial before the court on allegations of treason, among other charges. Mr. Kanu was granted bail on health grounds with 12 conditions attached to the bail by the presiding judge, Binta Nyako. Although the request for bail was by all four defendants, only Mr. Kanu’s bail was approved, with the listed conditions. There have since been media reports that Mr. Kanu rejected the bail because his co-defendants were not allowed bail. Kanu was granted bail on health grounds. The IPOB leader is also expected to provide three sureties one of whom must be a serving Senator, a Jewish religious leader and highly respected person, who own land anywhere in Abuja. The bail bond has been set at N100 million for each surety. Kanu was also ordered never to grant any interviews to the press, pending the outcome of his trial. He will not be seen in a gathering of more than 10 people. Justice Binta Nyako made it clear that Kanu’s bail will be revoked, if any of the orders are flouted. However, the other accused persons were denied bail. According to Justice Nyako, treasonable felony – the charges against them is a serious offence against the state.
