Drama as Osinbajo compels Wike to enter same chopper with Amaechi, Abe

Jul 27, 2017 4:50 PM It was a mild drama on Thursday as the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, was escorted to the commissioning of some projects in Rivers State by Minister for Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Magnus Abe. It started when Amaechi stepped out of the Presidential Jet, with shouts of “the Lion” by APC faithful who besieged the airport, then next was Senator Magnus Ngei Abe. Both Rivers APC leaders then walked down to where the chopper was waiting for Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. As the Acting President alighted from the Presidential Jet, he was received on hand by Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and a handful of traditional rulers and others who queued for a formal handshake with the visitor. Residents of the area were left in shock yesterday after the body of the lady, identified as Rose Nakimuli, was found dumped at a banana plantation naked and a stick inserted in her private part. According to Daily Monitor, this comes barely three days after a 17- year-old girl, Norah Wayana was discovered killed in the same manner and body dumped in a banana plantation near her parent’s home in the same area. The convicts are Rashid Nurudin alias Torgbor, 20, a sprayer; Prince Tetteh Agormeda, 18, a commercial motorbike rider; Saviour Feda, 21, a conductor; Kelvin Baah,19, a commercial motorbike rider and Francis Kwasi,19, a bus conductor. The five young men were slapped with 30 years’ imprisonment each by the court, presided over by Gabriel Mate-Teye, in connection with a robbery case which took place at Zenu in the Kpone-Katamansu District in 2016. They were charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit crime and robbery. They pleaded not guilty to the charges but after almost a year-long trial, they were found guilty of the offences and sentenced to 30 years on each count, but all to run concurrently. The syndicate had on 18th July, 2017, in Osisioma Ngwa abducted one Onyemaechi Mbamaonyeukwu Ijeoma ‘m’, the Managing Director of Mba Hotels Aba in his ash colour Nissan Infinity Jeep with Reg. No. GWA 807 DH and held him hostage in an uncompleted building at Umuajuju Ovungwu, Isiala Ngwa South LGA while negotiating for ransom.
