Buhari will return to London for follow-ups –Presidency
The Presidency has refuted claims in some quarters that President Muhammadu Buhari will no longer return to his London doctors for follow-up but will instead bring them down to Nigeria to attend to him.
This was made known by the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, during an interview with journalists on Thursday.
Shehu, who was asked to comment on the news of the possibility of the President’s London doctors coming down to Nigeria for fellow-ups, said it was not true.
He instead said the President will return to London, but refused to be specific on when that would be.
“It is false news. We are not aware of the reported advance movements. The last time the President spoke about this, he said he would return to his doctors after some time. We are not aware that this has changed,” Shehu said.
Soon after his arrival to Nigeria after a 49-day medical vacation in the United Kingdom, President Buhari unequivocally stated that there may be need for him to return to London for fellow-ups.

“I am feeling much better now, there may, however, be need to have further follow-ups within some weeks,” Buhari had said upon his return.
Buhari finally accepted that he was sick, and that he had never been so sick in any time in his life, after the Presidency constantly denied he was sick and repeatedly told Nigerians he was hale and hearty.
The Federal Government, through the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who also denied the President was sick during his stay in London, had said Buhari was never going to let Nigerians know what he is suffering from, nor the cost of treatment.
He said disclosing such could pose a national security threat.
