Aisha, on Friday May 19, called on the president to resign for the sake of the common good of the country.
She said in a video clip that the president should resign in other to take care of his health since he has already achieved his heart desire of ruling the country.
While some Nigerians condemned Aisha Yesufu for asking President Buhari to resign, many have hailed her as a brave woman
“For crying out loud, the president is sick, the president is not capable of discharging his duties as president, why can’t he resign?
“Sickness can be on anybody, nobody is wishing the president bad. The fact that he is sick doesn’t mean he is going to die today or tomorrow. Somebody that is as healthy as I am now can drop dead. It is life!
“How long are we going to wait and keep watching everything go in disarray. Who is going to sign the budget, we don’t know. The report on Babachir, what is happening to it?
“Why are we being held to ransom?” In a direct speech to the president, Yesufu said: “President Muhammadu Buhari, you have gotten the best in this world. A lot of things that you have, most people cannot even dream of.
“You have being president twice, you said it yourself, you have reached the peak of your career as a military man and as a politician.
“Can you allow each and every one of us as Nigerians be able to reach the peak of our careers? Can you just take some time off, take care of yourself. May God give you good health.”
In their reaction to her call for the president’s resignation, some Nigerians rebuked her, while many agreed with her submission that the president should resign for the benefit of the country.
Don Ikechukwu Funa said: “I duff my hat for you madam. This is what people like OBJ will never have the courage to say in public but instead running up and down from IBB house to Abdulsalami to Sultan’s house just to be relevant.”
On his part, Isioma Chigbolu, agreed with her, saying: Very well said my sister, we have been saying it all along, but if you are Igbo they call you names , this a northerner, a good woman who cares about Nigeria moving forward.
“But some fools are condoning this so called stupid cabal holding Nigeria hostage, if Buhari can not do his duties as president , let him heed this woman’s call Aisha Yusufu and resign.
“Take care of your health and indeed if you must be an adviser to the new president Osinbajo if that is the case, but this acting president nonesense won’t work if these idiots who don’t care about Nigeria, but themselves won’t let Osinbajo be a truly acting president, it is just ridiculous that we are in this state in Nigeria.
Tunde Husein Oyanta on the other hand disagreed with her, he said: “This is the work of pdpigs, Nigerians are not fools and it’s better you return the money you collect from them. We know it’s part of preparation for 2019, their believe is that the more Buhari is still the presidential candidate of Apc they do not have chance.
In Buhari’s support, Hussaini Ibrahim Atezeey wrote: “What do you know about politics woman, if you don’t have somtin rsonable to say just keep your mouth shut, go and look after your family. Nigeria is 100 times beyond your imagination. Sai BaBa if u lyk leave d country.”
