PDP Legislators Issue Buhari Quit Notice, Declare Aso Rock Vacant

Members of the House of Representatives under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform have issued President Muhammadu Buhari a quit notice by declaring Aso Rock vacant for the 2019 elections.

The opposition led by Rep. Leo Okuweh Ogor from Delta state alleged that the APC administration has failed to fulfill its campaign promises thereby resulting in the impoverishment of Nigerians who now live in hunger and insecurity.

The PDP legislators made this known after an emergency meeting on Thursday, July 13, during a press briefing to highlight the struggles the party passed through in the course of ‎it’s legal battles that resulted in Markarfi’s victory at the supreme court.

Addressing journalists on behalf of the House, Rep Ogor stated that having failed to improve the country’s situation better than it met it, the APC should therefore see the PDP’s legal victory at the supreme court as a quit notice towards 2019. More details soon…

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with a former Governor of Osun state, Bisi Akande over the death of his wife, Omowunmi Bisi Akande who died at 73.

The President, who is currently recuperating from an undisclosed illness in London, expressed his “heart-felt” sympathy for Akande (who is a founding member of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), describing the loss as “irreparable”.

In a letter he personally written by Buhari on Thursday, July 13, which followed an earlier telephone call to the bereaved APC Chieftain, the President said:

“I received the very sad news of the death of your dearly beloved wife, Madam Omowunmi Akande this morning. I am following our phone call with this letter of condolence, which comes from my heart.

“To lose a wife, a dear wife after 50 years, a constant and loving companion through good and bad times, is a blow only a man of unshakeable faith can withstand. Please extend my personal condolences to the immediate and wider Akande family and to friends of the family for this irreparable loss.

“May Allah give you the strength and Iman to endure her passing away.”

The APC has also commiserated with Bisi Akande, over the death of his wife. In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, the party prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Mr. Abdullahi noted that the deceased was a loyal wife throughout the 51 years of her marriage, a dedicated mother, role model and strong pillar of support to her husband during his public assignments as former governor of Osun.

“As former first lady of Osun State, her humility, charitable initiatives and community development efforts endeared her to the people of the state.

“Indeed, the family, government and people of Osun State and indeed our great party have lost an exemplary woman, we would miss her dearly.”

Among other public assignments, Mr. Akande was also the National Chairman of the defunct Alliance for Democracy, (AD).
