Jul 12, 2017 4:25 AM Governor Ayodele Fayose telling his story to the soldiers Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has narrated how he ran away from the barracks when he could no longer endure the rigours of  Nigerian  Army training after he tried to join. He revealed this after met soldiers at a checkpoint unannounced. The soldiers felt at ease with the Governor as he told them his story. Revealing details of the incident, the Governor’s Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka said : “Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose having a tete-a-tete with Soldiers at the Ikere border today. The governor in the chit-chat narrated how he ran away from the Mogadishu Barrack when he could no longer endure the rigours of Nigerian Army training. The suspect was allegedly caught by members of the Vigilante Group of Ikorodu, Onyabo, behind Access Bank, Benson Street around 2am. It was gathered that the suspect attempted to enter the home of an old woman, who lives with her grandchild. Unfortunately, the old woman sighted him and raised alarm, which attracted other residents and vigilante members. He was promptly apprehended and his bag searched. It was gathered that four Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, black oil, handkerchief, army t-shirt and charms were found in it. Upon the discovery, the mob descended on the suspect and made to lynch him. Jul 3, 2017 2:01 PM Navy personnel at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Imeri, Ondo State on Monday brutalised a man for daring to complain that they disrupted a queue at a FIRST Bank ATM in Idoani Ose Local Government Area. An eyewitness who dared to report the incident to the bank’s branch manager was also slapped. The officers, six in number, had arrived at the bank around 9.30am but met a long queue because it was a market day and the First Bank branch was the only one in the area. However, instead of waiting their turn or seek permission from those already in the queue, they proceeded to the front of the queue but the man whose turn it was to withdraw protested, pleading that he had been at the bank since 5am. In a court sitting on Tuesday June 27, 2017, the Tribunal agreed with the submissions of the Legal Luminary, Dr Okonkwo that the Petitioners failed to prove the allegations made against the Army beyond reasonable doubt.
